Every £1 you give to Advantage Africa goes a long way:

- £15 will buy children' books for a whole year;
- £50 will buy a bicycle for a village development worker;
- £100 will provide a youth group with HIV/AIDS resources;
- £350 will train a teacher in special needs education for one year;
- £1,000 will buy a large stone tank to provide safe water;
- £5,000 is enough to build a consulting room in a village health clinic.

A regular donation is especially valuable, as it helps us to plan ahead and meet our commitments to partner organisations in Africa.  If you are a UK taxpayer, Advantage Africa can make your donation worth 25% more at no cost to you through the government's Gift Aid scheme.

Please sponsor Advantage Africa's Director Andrew Betts in the the 2010 Robin Hood Marathon.

Please enter the Milton Keynes Big Fun Run around Willen Lake on Sunday 26th September.

Please contact us if you would like to do a sponsored event.

Advantage Africa's free newsletter covers the latest events from our projects and inspiring stories about people in Africa overcoming hardship.  By focusing on what disadvantaged people in Africa are doing to help themselves, it avoids the UK media's often unbalanced portrayal of Africa as a hopeless continent full of disasters and their victims.  Please contact us with your name, email and postal addresses if you would like to be added to our mailing list.

Could you run a quiz night, coffee morning or sponsored event for Advantage Africa?  Or how about selling some of those belongings gathering dust in the attic or garage at a local car boot sale, and donating the proceeds to Advantage Africa?

See the campaigns page for more information on how you can help make changes to help people in Africa overcome poverty and disadvantage.

If you or your business, organisation or school use large amounts of inkjet cartridges, please contact us to find out how these can be recycled to raise funds for our work, and help the environment too!

You can also help us raise funds by selling your unwanted items on Ebay. Simply select the option to donate a proportion of proceeds to charity and then select Advantage Africa when entering your listing.
