Advantage Africa  supports the ideas and work of inspirational people in Africa to overcome poverty and disadvantage.  It is a registered charity begun in 2001 by a group of men and women with a wide-ranging experience of international development.

Advantage Africa works in close partnership with determined individuals and community groups, supporting their ideas and plans so that disadvantaged people can improve their lives.  This particularly includes people who - alongside poverty -  face prejudice and stigma as a result of disability or HIV/AIDS.

We provide  encouragement, resources, links and skills training.  We share a vision with our African partners to contribute towards the improved incomes, health and education of 10,000 people by 2012.

By clicking the buttons on the left, you can use this website to find out about Advantage Africa's approach, partners and projects. You can also find out more about how to support our work among disadvantaged people in East Africa.

In our current newsletter we highlight how the people we work with, including homeless orphans in Uganda, are more vulnerable to the global financial crisis than anyone; food inflation in Uganda is now running at over 30%.
